Snow Ride Video!

I shot some video on Wednesday of the my morning commute on the Capital Crescent Trail. What little snow there was, was (was was) sticky so I didn't have any problems on my touring tires (like I did last year).

When I got to work I found a deal on some Innova studded 700x35s.

There are a little thinner than my Continental Contacts but hopefully that will make them better in the deep stuff. I got them mainly because the were cheap as hell and the reviews said they were decent. It's like they were made just for me. I'll do a review after I break them in a bit.

Video of Yesterdays Flooded Sligo Creek Commute

I've seen it much worse than this but at the time I didn't have a handy HD camera.

The LHT (yeah you know me) is in need of a good scrubbing and maybe a long hug after this.

Fallen Trees On The CCT

Having been off the bike for most of last week with a cold I'm only now seeing some of the damage the Capital Crescent Trail sustained from the storm last weekend, so this is probably old news to many of you.  Between Bethesda and Silver Spring there are several trees hanging over the trail like this one. It makes me wonder how many trees they will keep when the Purple Nurple shows up. I would image lots of downed trees could be problematic for a light rail system.

On a side note I thought I would mention that if you own a GoPro Hero like I do, you probably have a vast library of what I like to call "HTF?" photos like this one.

How The Fuck Does This Thing Work Again?

GoPro HD Bar Cam tests. I approve.

Here is the initial test run this morning with my new GoPro HD cam mounted on the bars. You might want to go to my YouTube page to see the larger version.

Here is another video with the original audio.

Larger Version.

I'm pretty impressed. I thought with a rigid steel fork the picture would be much more shaky. I'll have a more detailed product review once I take it out mountain biking.

Also, I saw a painted doe on the ride in today. I think it might have been my spirit animal. I'll have to eat some peyote for breakfast tomorrow just to make sure.

Not a bad way to start the Monday.
