Bike 1, Flu 0
I didn't get my flu shot this year. I am not sure it would have mattered but after suffering through this latest bug I will be first in line this fall. I was KO'd for 2 WEEKS! With really bad muscle aches, no energy , and an endless supply of lung butter my bikes have been on a much undesired break. There were two days in there where even my teeth were killing me. Can anyone explain that one to me? But no more! Today I road in for the first time in two weeks and it was great! I took it easy but by the time I got to work I felt like I have finally put the smack down on the never ending flu.

Blue Ray It Is!
For those of you waiting out the battle between HD and Blue Ray before you buy ROAM The Collective, wait no more! Toshiba announced that they are giving up on the HD DVD technology. At least we didn't have to wait years for the outcome like we did during the bloody VHS/Betamax wars in the 80's. Why did I need to get two copies of Big Trouble in Little China?

Bike Tubes For Household Use
There was a gap between the floor boards and a joist running under my closet that would vibrate when the furnace kicked on. I was having trouble finding a solution until I thought, "what would Sheldon Brown do"? I figured cutting up an old schrader tube and wedging the pieces in to the gap to serve as rubber bushings is just the sort of thing he would have come up with.

This'll Get Yer Crumpets In A Bunch
11 year pothole backlog in UK
It would take more than 11 years, at the current rate, to fill in all existing potholes in England and Wales, the BBC reports. Local authorities – who are responsible for the majority of roads other than trunk routes and motorways - say they simply don't have enough cash to sort the situation out. The estimated number of potholes runs into hundreds of thousands. link
